Jackson Browne New Sound

Sara Watkins vocals & violin fit perfectly with Dice's music. Dice's voice was fantastic, his guitar playing has never been better and he genuinely into the audience response. Great supporting musicians delivered the best live versions of some songs I've ever heard (without David Lindley present). The lead guitar player was amazing to watch as he adapted to the audience requests - Dice would play the main chords and he would find a guitar tuned for the tune or tune one on the fly and join in mid-song. Saw both Mpls & Duluth shows. Two very different shows as he played many audience requests covering the last +40 years with lots of older albums (Late for the Sky, Pretender, For Every Man, Saturated). The loose "Living Room" format with the band members joining as needed and an ever-changing set really worked and was a nice change to cookie-cutter style concerts you see year after year from older artists. Dice shows why he is in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It was great to watch a real professional work his craft.
